Spring Valley, New York-based Marquis Home Care is in the process of acquiring Albany-based Living Resources Certified Home Health Agency Inc. for $1.5 million. When the deal goes through, business partners Neil Zelman and Eric Newhouse plan to use Living Resources to round out their service offerings and ultimately created a new company: Marquis Certified Home Care LLC.
Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio (VNA of Ohio), a nonprofit offering home-based health services, has announced its intent to acquire Westlake company, Ideal Home Health Care. VNA of Ohio — a member of the Holmdel, N.J.-based Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNA Health Group) — is one of Ohio's largest home health, hospice and mental health care providers, offering services throughout 17 counties in northern and central Ohio, according to a news release.
The San Francisco-based franchise company Home Care Assistance has entered into an agreement to acquire the California home care operations of Silverado, a large senior living, hospice and in-home care provider that specializes in dementia services. The agreement is effective July 8, Silverado confirmed to Home Health Care News. “Silverado has been looking for a long-term partner for our At-Home business as we focus the organization more fully around memory care, hospice and palliative care,” Loren Shook, CEO of Silverado, told HHCN in a statement. “I am pleased to report that we have found the ideal partner in Home Care Assistance.”

Pikeville Medical Center — one of the largest hospitals in eastern Kentucky — announced last week that it’s selling its home health division to Home Care Health Services. In doing so, Pikeville joins the ever-growing list of hospitals outsourcing their home health operations to nearby agencies, often because of workforce or financial challenges. Financial terms of the deal between Pikeville and Home Care Health Services — expected to close in toward the middle of July — were not disclosed.
