AppleGate Recovery, a BayMark Health Services company, announced this week the acquisition of KSPS Medical Consultants, an office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) program with two locations located in Middletown, KY near Louisville and Bowling Green, KY. The facility, established in 2014, provides buprenorphine and Suboxone® medication-assisted treatment in a physician’s office setting. Medical Consultants have built a strong reputation for providing effective opioid addiction treatment through quality medical care for the patient, as well as support and referrals as needed to improve all areas of the patient’s life.

AppleGate Recovery now operates 16 programs across 7 states focusing on outpatient treatment with buprenorphine and buprenorphine compounds such as the well-known Suboxone®, as well as Bunavail® and Zubsolv®. These medications, when supported by counseling, provide a comprehensive treatment modality that addresses physical withdrawal symptoms and psychological cravings.

“BayMark offers a broad continuum of care for individuals across the country suffering from opioid use disorder,” shared Mike Saul, BayMark Division President. “We look to work with organizations which have established themselves as quality providers of patient care to expand our reach into areas desperately in need of this treatment. Our goal is to build upon their established success and enhance patient care.”

In addition to medication-assisted treatment, which includes counseling, AppleGate provides laboratory services, case management and collaborative treatment during pregnancy. Patients have access to medical providers and staff who can connect them to resources they need as they rebuild their lives and ensure their overall health is the number one priority.

Dr. Richard R. Morris, Co-Founder and Physician for Medical Consultants noted, “BayMark has clearly established themselves as the leader in opioid addiction treatment, and we felt they had the expertise and dedication to continue providing the high level of care we have established for our patients.”

“Dr. Morris and myself will continue to treat patients, and work with our excellent medical staff,” Dr. Ross W. Cotton, Co-Founder and Physician for Medical Consultants added. “BayMark will provide a great support structure for us to grow and enhance our services as a part of a solution for the opioid epidemic here in Kentucky.”
